Back for its 14th annual season, NYC Winter Jazzfest brings musicians from across the spectrum of "jazz." Our artists and audiences come from all over the globe to New York City for a week of festivities. This year musicians come to us from all over the U.S., Norway, France and we open the festival with special focus on U.K. jazz artists - The Comet is Coming, Yazz Ahmed, Nubya Garcia, Oscar Jerome, and hosted by famed BBC DJ, Gilles Peterson.

Our cornerstone, the celebrated 2-day music marathon (Jan 12 & 13), is hosted across multiple downtown venues. Bounce around Greenwich Village and feast your ears on all that you can hear from Mark Guiliana to Donny McCaslin to Luciana Souza to 2018 Grammy-nominee Jazzmeia Horn to "Birdman" composer and drummer Antonio Sanchez, and hundreds more. Plus, we celebrate the work of our artist-in-residence flautist and composer Nicole Mitchell in a variety of projects.

Inspired by the positive public response to our 2017 social justice focus, in 2018 we put a lens on sexual and gender equality, racial justice, immigration rights and environmental responsibility with performances and talks addressing these issues head on.  We seek to place jazz in context of our society, as the music is a reaction to our current predicament.
