- How it started: In 1944, a middle school girl in Indiana gave her friend a card for her 14th birthday. Then, the friend sent the card back to her. And on it went.
- How it’s going: Pat DeReamer, now 95, and Mary Kroger, 94, can’t remember who first sent the card, now crowded with writing. They’ve never missed a year.
