Here is
the draft programme of the 39th Annual Conference of CIRCOM Regional. From ongoing processes of
transformation to new challenges posed by
technology developments this major media event in Europe will look into problems and search for solutions to drive further
quality journalism and audiovisual content.
The flagship event of CR will take place on
1-2 June, 2023 and will be hosted by
EITB, Basque Radio and Television. It will be held in Donostia-San Sebastian, Basque Country, Spain.
The Conference agenda is a comprehensive effort to reach out to the internal potential of CR to tackle outstanding issues. At the same time the sessions are well balanced with contributions from
prominent experts in media,
media studies and managers of
successful practices.
The Conference`s sessions will focus on the
mission of public service media in our communities, trust in media and the relations with audiences and users. The sessions are the right platform to
talk about the headwinds we face these days – from news avoidance among
young generations, to eroding trust in media and the pitfalls when implementing
innovations. We will
listen to experts as well as peers from our big CIRCOM family about
new trends in media and the blind zones for PSM. With all eyes on
Ukraine, we will hear first-hand evidence from our associate member Hromadske about the past one year of war in the country. The sessions are just the right place to
share positive endeavours how to deal with
fake news and disinformation, while adopting
new technologies and the new vistas they offer. The application of artificial intelligence in journalism is only one example.
The
Meet the Prix Winners session embodies to the fullest the motto of the Conference:
We Talk We Listen We Share. During this session the Winners and the Commended of the 2023 Prix CIRCOM Regional will talk about how they reached out to their audiences as well as the road to success and recognition among colleagues from the big CIRCOM family.
