On October 15, 1930, legendary jazz composer Duke Ellington records perhaps his most famous song, “Mood Indigo.” The song was first titled “Dreamy Blues.” Originally an instrumental, lyrics were added by Irving Mills, and the tune was renamed “Mood Indigo.” The song became a jazz standard, and over the years, has been recorded by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and many more. |
